Six Months of Seeds – May extras

Grow sweet carrots by following our step-by-step video guide, below.

You Will Need

  • Carrot seeds
  • 20cm pot
  • Multipurpose, peat-free compost
  • Plant label
  • Watering can with rose attachment

Step 1

Fill a 20cm-deep container with sieved multipurpose compost. Gently tamp it level to about 1cm below the rim of the pot, to leave room for watering.

Step 2

Sow your seeds thinly and evenly across the surface of the compost. Add a label. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of sieved compost, and tamp that down gently.

Step 3

Water the pot thoroughly, using a watering can with a rose attachment. Keep the pot well watered. When the plants emerge, thin them out.
