You Will Need

  • 37cm container
  • Carex buchananii
  • Euphorbia 'Purpurea'
  • Erica carnea 'Aurea'
  • Helleborus x sahinii 'Winterbells'
  • 1:1 mix of peat-free, multi- purpose compost and loam-based compost

Step 1

Ensure the drainage holes are clear, then fill around two-thirds with a 50/50 mix of multi-purpose compost and loam-baed compost.

Place the large plants at the back of the pot, filling in around the rootball with more compost. Place smaller plants at the front.

Firm compost around the plants and water well to settle. Position out of strong winds. Don't allow the compost to dry out.

Keep it looking good

This pot will stay looking good over many weeks, positioned on the corner of a sunny patio where it can be enjoyed from the house. Snip off old blooms to keep it tidy.
