Explore the great outdoors with an RHS Membership
As an avid gardener, you can get closer to the world you love by joining the UK's leading gardening charity
Now the weather is finally getting warmer, it’s the perfect time to start getting out and about more – and you can do exactly that with an RHS membership. Whether you’re looking for relaxing days out in beautiful surroundings or personalised advice on how you can improve your own garden, the charity’s membership package offers a whole range of benefits to help you make the most of your outdoor spaces.
If you like the sound of that, you’ll be pleased to hear that the RHS is currently offering 25% off your first year when you pay by Direct Debit. Perfect for couples, the individual membership is now available for only £53.25, instead of £71. Meanwhile, the joint membership, which is ideal for families, has been reduced to £78.75, rather than £105.
Here are just a few of the perks of being an RHS member…
Unlimited free days out at the RHS Gardens
As a member, you’ll get free entry to the five RHS Gardens – Harlow Carr in North Yorkshire, Hyde Hall in Essex, Rosemoor in Devon, Wisley in Surrey and Bridgewater in Greater Manchester. Every visit can be an experience to share, as individual members can bring along a family guest or two children, while joint members can bring a family guest and up to four children. Plus, there are more than 220 glorious RHS Partner Gardens in the UK and overseas that are also available for you to explore. From grand estates to hidden gems, all of them offer free entry to RHS members at selected times of the year.
Exclusive access to shows and events
The RHS is known for its spectacular shows, and members can enjoy access to exclusive Members’ Days, as well as savings on public days. This means you can get discounted tickets to the famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival and the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park, all of which are bursting with stunningly designed gardens, fabulous floral displays and plenty of horticultural shopping stalls. You’ll also be able to discover lots of other exciting festivals, events and shows throughout the year at the five RHS Gardens.
Personalised gardening advice
You may already be familiar with the free advice pages on the RHS website, which are packed with gardening tips and inspiration. But did you know you can also get extra one-on-one support if you become a member? Your membership includes free personalised advice from a team of RHS gardening advisors, who are backed by in-house experts in plant identification, pests and diseases. No matter how big or small the question, you can contact them anytime for unlimited help that’s tailored to your garden.
A subscription to The Garden magazine
Members will also receive a monthly subscription to The Garden magazine, worth £59. Available digitally on the RHS The Garden app or as a paper version, it shares the best in gardening every month with informative, inspiring articles that will appeal to gardeners at all skill levels. Read the latest developments in horticulture, find new gardens to visit and stay up to date with all RHS news, including shows, plant trials and how the charity’s work is helping people’s lives.
The Members’ Seed Scheme
Since 1905, the RHS Seed Scheme has drawn on the charity’s diverse plant collections and wealth of expertise to offer members the opportunity to access seeds harvested from the RHS Gardens. Covering 180 plant species, the seed list is produced each year by a small, dedicated team of staff and volunteers, who collect, clean and pack the seeds for members. As a member, you can order up to 15 packets of seeds a year, including annuals, herbaceous perennials, trees and shrubs, some of which are particularly rare or unusual.
