With colour-themed borders, three lakes, an 18th-century walled garden, a traditional potager and orchard of Cornish apple varieties, these gardens provide a long season of interest. Spring brings a wealth of blooms, with azaleas, rhododendrons, magnolias and many vibrant bulbs, followed by hot colour in the South African summer garden, with cannas, red-hot pokers and proteas interwoven with ornamental grasses.
