One of the best remaining examples of a picturesque-style garden, it has a moated ruined castle at its heart, and sweeping lawns punctuated by mature rhododendrons. A woodland glade with giant redwoods, hidden walkways, a heather-thatched ice-house and ancient spring add to its romantic appeal.
