First laid out in the 1560s, this garden has been kept true to its original design. It comprises a series of garden rooms, divided by yew hedges and each with its own style and colour. The many highlights include a 100m-long peony border, an Italian garden with pink roses, a magnolia garden, double herbaceous border, reflective pools and colourful summer displays. In spring, wildflowers and tulips bloom in the orchard, beneath the umbrella-shaped apple trees.
