Within the walled garden is a National Collection of 19th-century shrub roses and four 17th-century clipped yews, plus a geometric herb and vegetable garden, and two Victorian glasshouses. The wide mixed borders contain many unusual and fragrant herbaceous perennials, shrubs and climbers, including lavender, clematis and philadelphus. Beyond are tranquil woodland walks to explore.
