Designed with views and vistas in mind, this is a rare example of an 18th-century landscape garden. From the neo-classical chapel to the walled garden and ornamental ponds, Gibside was once one of the grandest designed landscapes in the north of England. There are woodlands and meadows to explore, as well as the stables and ruins of the orangery.
