Due to the mild local climate, many exotic plants thrive in these beautiful gardens. The formal areas have a Mediterranean feel, with fountains, colonnades and richly planted borders, while the wooded areas are filled with plants from all over the world, including rhododendrons and magnolias. Take the lake walk to see the seasons reflected in the tranquil waters, and look for red squirrels along the way.
